CHE Activistas

El Puente CHE Activistas were a group of young adults who worked in the CHE Institute on important issues such as air quality, brownfield identification, community gardening, campaigns to stop polluters, and educate the community on health and environmental issues. El Puente’s CHE Activistas regularly collaborated with groups like CIET: Community Information and Epidemiological Technologies, to document the asthma prevalence rate in the Southside or Williamsburg and Bushwick; the New York City Environmental Justice Alliance (NYCEJA) to help map brownfields; and Just Foods in setting up a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
