HIV/AIDS Workshop

Many young people think they know the facts about H.I.V. and A.I.D.S. but the fact is there is a lot of misinformation, myths, and legends out there. Through role playing and theater, this workshop will allow the participants to go over the definition of HIV/AIDS and the different modes of transmission, prevention, and protection in a fun and interesting way that is relevant to young people.

STD's/STI's Workshop

There are over 27 documented STDs in America. In this workshop we will go over the 7 most common Sexually Transmitted Disease/Infections that are affecting today's youth. The participants will know the difference between viral and bacterial infections, the modes of transmission, prevention and protection for the seven most popular STDs.

The strength of Teatro El Puente is its emphassis on young people empowering young people. This principle usually allows young people to feel more free to ask certain questions and to discuss certain issues of concern that they may feel uncomfortable to address with people significantly older than them. All workshops are participatory and include an original performance created by Teatro El Puente to fit the individual theme of the workshop.
